Armored Saint - Win Hands Down

2 czerwca nową płytę wydał amerykański zespół z pogranicza heavy metalu i hard rocka Armored Saint. Grupa nagrała cztery płyty studyjne w latach 80-tych po czym zawiesiła działalność. W 2000 powrócili, a obecna płyta "Win Hands Down" jest siódmą.
I pokazuje, ze obecnie zespół znajduje się w wyśmienitej formie. Płyta jest pełna rytmicznych zagrywek, solówek i bardzo ciekawych riffów, a wszystko to nagrane z mocną i w większości z heavy metalową szybkością. Już pierwszy utwór tytułowy przynosi tą szybkość, a mimo to wokal jest dość melodyjny, w dodatku w połowie jakby nieco Iron Maiden się pojawia. Zresztą w "That was Then, Way Back When" też można odnieść takie wrażenie za sprawą galopującego rytmu. Wyróżniłbym jeszcze, równie mocny jak pierwszy, "Mess" z rytmicznym riffem momentami, "With a Full Head of Steam" i spokojną balladę "Dive", choć wszystkie utwory robią duże wrażenie, dzięki czemu całość płyty jest bardzo ciekawa.

Armored Saint is the heavy metal/hard rock american band and they released their new album on June 2nd. The album is called "Win Hands Down" and it is seventh (third after come back in 2000) studio album.
And it shows that the band is in very good form. The record is full rhythmic and very interesting riffs, solos and everything's recorded with strength and heavy metal speed in most of tracks. Already first title song brings that speed but we hear melodies in vocal parts too. What more - in the middle shows some Iron Maiden like style.The same might be felt in "That was Then, Way Back When" with gallops like IM. I would highlight "Mess" the same strength as first song with some rhythmic riff, "With a Full Head of Steam" and peaceful ballad "Dive". But all the songs makes big impress and thanks to that whole album is very interesting.
