Dwa miesiące temu informowałem o nadchodzącej płycie Joe Satriani'ego. Teraz od tygodnia znajduje się ona w sklepach. I przynosi kawał dobrej muzyki.
Satriani może na nowej płycie nie zaskakuje, ale w sumie od takiej muzyki nie ma co tego oczekiwać. Mamy tu bardzo ładne i spokojne melodie, szybsze solówki, ale też i mocniejsze czasem riffy. W ostatnim utworze "Goodbye Supernova" pojawiają smyczki, w spokojniutkim "All of my Life" mamy nieco bongosów, a sama płyta zaczyna się mocnym i szybkim uderzeniem w utworze tytułowym "Shockwave Supernova", w którym później następuje ładna melodia i nieco zwolnienia. Mamy nieco bluesa w "San Francisco Blue" i nieco jakby marszowego pochodu w "Scarborough Stomp". Ale każdy utwór mógłby być wymieniony tutaj, bo płyta jest bardzo równa, melodyjna i w stylu Satriani'ego.

Two month ago I wrote about forthcoming Joe Satriani's new album. The record is in stores for a week now. And brings big dose of good music.
Maybe Joe doesn't surprise but what to expect from music like his. We have here beautiful and peaceful melodies , faster solos but also some stronger guitar riffs. In last track "Goodbye Supernova" there are some string instruments, bongos in very peaceful "All of my Life". And the album itself starts from strong and fast hit in title song "Shockwave Supernova" where later comes pretty melody and little slowing down. We have some blues in "San Francisco Blue" and some march like music walk in "Scarborough Stomp". But I could mention here every compossition because the album is very equally good, melodic and Satriani styled.

Joe Satriani - Unstoppable Momentum

Wczoraj pisałem, że nie długo ukaże się nowa płyta Satrianiego. Ponieważ nie słuchałem jej jeszcze postanowiłem posłuchać poprzedniego albumu mistrza - "Unstoppable Momentum", wydanego w maju 2013 roku.
Na początek leci utwór tytułowy z fajnym nie galopującym wstępem, ale też nie balladowym. W sumie chyba jedna z najlepszych kompozycji na płycie. Później Joe gra w swoim stylu, raz szybciej, raz wolniej, poniżej bardzo dobrego poziomu nie schodząc. Pojawia się nawet klimat rocka lat 80-tych w "Lies and Truths".
Na uwagę na pewno zasługują również utwory "Jumpin' In" i "Jumpin' Out", oba bujające rytmicznie i przyjemnie choć wcale nie wolniutko. Natomiast ostatni "A Celebration" z szybkim dość wstępem to bardzo ciekawe, choć nieco krótkie zakończenie udanego albumu.
Całość bardzo ciekekawa w typowym dla Satrianiego style, choć bez eksperymentów.

Yesterday you could read info about forthcoming Joe Satriani's record. I couldn't listen to it yet. So today I found his previous record. "Unstoppable Momentum" from 2013.
It starts with title composition. Beginning is cool, not speedfull but also not slow and ballad neighter. It is one of best songs on that album I think. After that Joe plays still his own style. Sometimes faster and sometimes slower. However never goes lower then very good level. In "Lies and Truths" there you can hear some of the 80's feeling in guitar sound.
For sure I should mention also "Jumpin' In" and "Jumpin'Out". Both compositions are full of moving rhythm and are very pleasurable. However, they're not ballads. And last "A Celebration" is very interesting finish of the album. Pity only that it is short a bit. The record is very good for me.
